Vladimira Pavić was born in Zagreb in 1948. She attended high school in Samobor, and took a bachelor’s degree in art history and archaeology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb.
Her first workplace was at the Museum of Međimurje in Čakovec (1974 -1990), where she ran the Culture and History Collection.
From 1990 to 1996 she was senior curator in the Samobor Museum, and was also manager of the Culture and History Collection. For three years (2003-2006) she was acting director of this establishment.
From 1996 on she was employed in the Museum Documentation Centre, where she carried out matters related to the listing and recording of war damage to museums and museum material in Croatia. She has spent a great deal of time in the field, touring war damaged museums, and assembling data, published in the MDC publication War Damage to Museums and Galleries in Croatia (MDC, 1997). In 1998 she acquired the rank of museum adviser.
With a grant from the national UNESCO committee in 2001 she went on working on the evaluation of data relating to museum material damage, carried out an expert analysis of the material that had fallen casualty to the war, and made an evaluation of the damage done to each individual museum. She presented the database in which there is analysis of the damage and photographic documentation as well in the form of an electronic document on the Website of the MDC in 2001.
As member of the International Commission for the Restitution of Cultural Properties, she took part in the restitution of material alienated from Croatia during the Homeland War.
When at the end of the 1990s the establishment of the Croatian museums net was started, together with the computerisation of Croatian museums,
Vladimira Pavić took over the role of coordinator and specialised adviser in the installation, maintenance and monitoring of the processing of museum material and documentation in the M++ programme, resulting in the establishment of uniform standards and improvement in the quality of museum work.
She takes an active part in education concerning the structure and content of the processing of data from primary, secondary and tertiary level documentation, with the organisation of workshops and seminars for museums and museum experts working in M++ and S++.

NB. Data taken from the questionnaire, material taken from the Personnel Archives of the MDC, and from an interview recorded on May 12, 2008.
