Nada Majanović was born in 1929, in Zagreb, where she was educated at high school and the Faculty of Philosophy, ethnology major. For some time she worked as a teacher of history in Vareš (Bosnia and Herzegovina), in a vocational and day release school (1956-1961).
From 1973 she was employed in the Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb, in the job of assistant curator, and after passing the professional exam, in 1973 achieved the rank of curator.
She worked as an independent officer in the didactic and advertising department of the Ethnology Museum in Zagreb; she organised her work into two separate activities - in the field of education and cultural campaigns, and work in PR. As part of the first, she was linked with schools and kindergartens, and organised educational units in the museum and outside, actively and creatively worked with schoolchildren, and held many lectures and seminars.
In 1981 she was appointed senior curator, and acquired the grade of museum adviser, thanks to a ruling of the Museum Council of Croatia, in 1989.
She organised many touring exhibitions for schools and kindergartens, and in the PR activity kept constantly in touch with the media, the result of which was the many interviews, articles, news items, spots, TV adverts and so on. She made invitations, posters, information panels, working catalogues and souvenirs.
She authored many exhibitions in the Ethnographic Museum and in the field. She was systematically engaged in research into folk customs, hunting, fishing, the celebration of new wine and so on.
She published her work in various journals and professional publications. Sent by the Commission for Cultural Links with Foreign Countries she visited museums and schools in the Hungarian cities of Mohacs, Pecs, Budapest.
For her work she won some dozen certificates and recognitions from tourist associations and schools.
