Vanda Ladović was born in Zagreb in 1929. She took a BA (art history) and history from the Faculty of Philosophy in 1957. She spent her entire career in Zagreb City Museum, where she ran the photographic collection of the museum, one of the biggest collections of the museum, then amounting to 35,000 photographs, 5,000 postcards and 23,000 negatives. As well as the photographic collection, she also dealt with the Zagreb 19th century Portraits Collection.
She is the author of the museological conception of the permanent display of Zagreb City Museum, showing the development of the city from prehistory to 1900. Independently she produced nine exhibitions, including: Classicism in Zagreb , 1958; Zagreb Once and Now, 1963; Baroque Sculpting in the Church of St Mark, 1967; Forgotten Faces of Zagreb, 1975; in collaboration with colleagues, she produced about 17 exhibitions, the most important of which are: Fighting Way of the CPY in Zagreb 1919-1959; the memorial exhibition First Husbandry Exhibitions in Zagreb 1864-01964; Fifty Years of the Zagreb Quartet, 1969; Croatian National Revival, 1985; Old Zagreb Trades and Crafts, 1991; Zagreb in the Works of Zagreb Printmakers 1900-1940.
She is one of the authors of one of the best photographic monographs Zagreb 1900.
She has printed well-received texts in the Vijesti muzealaca i konzervatora and in the magazines Čovjek i prostor and 15 dana.
An outstanding expert, she achieved excellent results in the study and presentation of museum material during her work, for which she was in 1992 awarded the "Pavao Ritter Vitezović" Prize of the Croatian Museum Association.
